Don’t let anyone tell you that you can find a turnkey system that will make you rich quickly online with little money or effort on your part. Unless you have a lot of money to invest–and the know-how to avoid spending it in the wrong places–it’s going to take a lot of hard work.

Why the Money Is in the List

I’ve talked to 6 people today who wanted to know more about my primary business. I mean, people who contacted me. That’s incredible. It shows the power of building a list.

You see, my primary business is having a promotion this month. You can start a business for just $1 through the 15th of June.

So yesterday I sent an email to my list, telling them about the promotion and inviting them to contact me for more information.

I had 3 calls before breakfast this morning! And I’ve got my Sunday pretty much booked–not to mention other days this week filling up too!

So if you’ve been thinking about building a list, stop procrastinating and do it now.

I would recommend Aweber. That’s what I’m using. It’s $1 for the first month, so you can try it out, and if it’s not for you, you’ve only lost a buck. I’m sure there are other programs out there, but I’ve never tried them, and I won’t recommend anything I haven’t tried.

To be successful in network marketing–whether it’s online or in person–one needs to be a leader. Someone who is not a leader can learn to become a leader. Associating with successful people is one way to do it. Reading books on the topic is another.

Celebrate With Me!

I’m so excited! I made director in my company! That’s the first level of any significance, and only about 12% of customers actually get there. So that puts me in the top 12%. Granted, the other 88% probably aren’t interested in the business side of things–just happy customers–but still, it’s a great achievement, and the fact that I did it fast and got an extra bonus is pretty cool, too!

So my company took me out to dinner. We ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Portland. I was thankful to be able to get a gluten-free dish, because I’m allergic to wheat. We discussed finances, getting out of debt, etc. We played a game where we were asked questions on finances, and whoever answered correctly would get a dollar. Not a lot of money, I know, but I was happy to get one of them! The question was, What percentage of value does a brand new car lose in 5 years? The answer? 70%. I guessed, and was happy to get it right!

That’s one thing I love about my company. They educate people on managing finances and getting out of debt. They are having a read-a-thon this month, reading Dave Ramsey’s book The Total Money Makeover. I got mine in Spanish, since it is my husband’s first language, and even though it’s not my first language, I am enjoying it immensely. It is such easy reading. I can’t wait to find some time to read more tonight after the kids go to bed.

Anyhow, here’s the video I made about the dinner:

I’m currently working really hard on my series on how to tell the difference between a legitimate business opportunity and a scam. Meant to do day 3 today, but I was on the phone too much. Not sure if I’ll have time tomorrow, but if I don’t have time to make the video, I’ll at least get my notes organized so I can do a good job on it when I do get the video done–no later than Monday, and possibly earlier. So watch for that!

Biz Opp Review – The Zaken Corporation

Four years ago, I tried the Zaken Corp’s work-at-home “opportunity.” It’s supposed to be a chance to work in the liquidation sales business.

I blogged about it before, during, and after the process at Zaken Corp – Scam or Legit? However, I never made a video on the topic. I thought I would do that now, since I am one of the few people who actually bought their kit. There are a couple of other guys on YouTube who made videos about it, but neither of them ever tried the opportunity. I did. So I think I’m qualified to say what I say.

So without further ado, here’s the video:

In a nutshell? It may or may not be a scam, but it’s being run like one. The liquidation business is a legitimate business, but using Zaken as a middle man isn’t the way to do it. And it’s not near as easy as he makes it out to be!
